Hyderabad-based restaurant chain Ohri’s Group has launched a new restaurant named Tansen, inspired by the legendary Indian classical musician. This new establishment highlights the culinary legacy of the Mughal era and the North-Western Frontier.
Tansen offers a diverse menu featuring dishes such as Sundried Tomato & Smoked Cheese Kulcha and Hyderabadi Marag—a spicy mutton soup infused with hazelnut and rose essence. The main course includes specialties like Green Chicken Curry, which blends chili, coriander, and raw mango, and Pathar-ka-Gosht, a dish traditionally cooked on flat granite stones. Innovative dishes include Edamame & Green Peas Kebab, combining Middle Eastern and Indian flavors, and Pepper Fish, served with applewood smoked pineapple chutney.
Talking about the new establishment, Amar Ohri, Owner, Ohri’s Group, said “At Tansen, the culinary traditions of the Mughal era blend seamlessly with contemporary dining, resulting in dishes that embody history, creativity, and the pure pleasure of gastronomy. Tansen represents a fusion of tradition and innovation, creating a mosaic of tastes that excite the palate and leave a lasting impression on all who dine with us. We hope to continue to serve our guests with great experiences and smiling faces.”
The restaurant has a refined and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by live Sufi singers, making it an ideal setting for both romantic evenings and joyful gatherings.
