What inspired you to pursue a career in the food and grocery sector?

This field is compelling due to its essential role in food, covering everything from farming to retail. It offers fulfillment through enhancing food access, promoting healthy eating, and supporting local producers, all within a dynamic, innovative, and impactful environment. 

What part of your job brings you the greatest fulfillment?

In the food and grocery sector, satisfaction comes from helping others, solving complex problems, and creating meaningful outcomes, such as improving food access, innovating products, and enhancing quality and sustainability. The ability to positively impact daily lives and customer experiences provides profound fulfillment. 

Any role model who has influenced you?

My greatest inspiration is Devaraddi Agasanakoppa, a pioneering farmer in native cow-based agriculture for 20 years. His dedication to sustainable farming and community impact is profoundly influential. Additionally, Prakash KV, my mentor and promoter, is a biologist and serial entrepreneur whose guidance and support have been crucial in navigating challenges and achieving growth. 

What skills are essential for thriving in this industry?

Success in the F&G industry hinges on meeting customer needs, upholding high standards, adapting to change, effective communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and a passion for food. Crucially, having supportive partners like Kunwar Devinder Singh and Suman Avalakki, who go above and beyond, can make all the difference.

Any achievement in your career that you’re proud of?

My key achievements include launching successful products like Gluten-Free Millet Noodles and Activated Dosa, which improve consumer health, conserve water, enhance soil health, and support farmers.

How do you stay motivated and inspired in your role?

I align my work with a clear, meaningful mission and embrace continuous learning to stay ahead in the industry. I rely on a strong support system of colleagues and mentors, celebrate small wins to maintain momentum, and prioritize self-care to ensure my well-being. 

What’s the one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

Personal interest cooking, practicing & inspiring others for sustainable living, or a unique hobby can reveal a well-rounded personality and foster deeper connections.

Any learnings that you would like to share? 

Key learnings include prioritizing customer experience, optimizing inventory & supply chain efficiency, leveraging technology & engagement, adapting to evolving consumer trends, & executing effective marketing strategies.
