Haldiram Snacks, a prominent name in the packaged food industry, has announced plans to invest Rs. 300 crore in Bihar to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
The company, known for its sweets, namkeen, bhujia, and snacks, has formalized this commitment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bihar government. The announcement was made by Sanjay Singhania, Vice President of Haldiram Snacks Pvt Ltd, during the Bihar Business Connect 2024 summit.
“We are setting up a manufacturing plant for sweets, namkeens, and snacks in Bihar with an investment of Rs. 300 crore,” Singhania stated. The company has secured a 12-acre plot in Sikanderpur, Bihta, for the project, which is expected to become operational by mid-2027.
The Bihar Business Connect 2024, a global investors summit organized by the state government, aims to attract substantial investments to boost the region’s economy. The event’s second edition has witnessed the signing of MoUs worth Rs. 1.8 lakh crore, significantly surpassing last year’s total of Rs. 53,000 crore.
The new plant in Bihar underscores Haldiram’s commitment to expanding its footprint and supporting regional economic development.
