Amul Launches ‘Organic Shoppe’ in Delhi, Targets Expansion to 100 Stores

Must Read

Amul, the country’s dairy cooperative under the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), has launched its first store dedicated to organic food items called Organic Shoppe. The store was inaugurated in New Delhi’s Mayur Vihar by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF, announced that the company plans to open 100 such stores nationwide by 2025.

According to the company, the products in the Organic Shoppe are sourced from certified organic farmers and undergo rigorous testing before being certified organic. Amul has also ensured that these organic products are priced reasonably to reach a wider segment of society.

This move comes a year after the cooperative inaugurated its organic testing laboratory at AmulFed Dairy in Gandhinagar. Amul entered the organic food market in 2022 with the launch of whole wheat flour. The dairy brand now offers 25 organic products, including various flours and pulses, as well as different types of rice such as basmati and sona masuri.
