Indian snack and restaurant chain Bikanervala is set to expand into the UK market through a strategic partnership with retail and hospitality leader The Montana Group, the company announced on Friday.
The expansion follows the recent launch of a new outlet in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, marking a homecoming for the brand. The Sri Ganganagar outlet, operating in a quick-service restaurant (QSR) format, offers Indian sweets, snacks, and multi-cuisine delicacies in a contemporary setting.
Manoj Madhukar, Founder, The Montana Group, highlighted the brand’s vision to make Indian flavors a global staple through its ‘Reverse Food Drainage’ initiative. “By fostering collaborations and exploring new markets, we aim to leverage the global fascination with Indian cuisine as a medium for cultural exchange,” he said.
Monty Singh, Co-founder, The Montana Group, emphasized the focus on engaging global youth through authentic Indian flavors, akin to how global chains like McDonald’s and KFC adapted to Indian tastes.
The Montana Group plans to open over 25 new outlets between 2025 and 2026, both in India and internationally.
Established in 1905, Bikanervala currently operates over 225 outlets across India, the US, Canada, the UAE, Qatar, New Zealand, Singapore, and Nepal.
Suresh Goel, CEO, Bikanervala Foods Pvt Ltd, stated, “This collaboration reflects our commitment to sharing the essence of Indian flavors worldwide and celebrating India’s culinary heritage on a global stage.”
