Quick commerce platform Blinkit has announced the launch of a 10-minute ambulance service, starting with five ambulances operating in Gurgaon. This innovative initiative aims to provide rapid emergency response, setting a new benchmark in healthcare accessibility.
Albinder Dhindsa, founder and CEO of Blinkit, shared the company’s vision: “As we expand the service to more areas, you will start seeing an option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the Blinkit app.” The service underscores Blinkit’s commitment to addressing critical healthcare needs with speed and efficiency.
Each ambulance is equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, Automated External Defibrillators (AED), stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and emergency medicines. The ambulances are staffed with a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver to ensure high-quality care during emergencies.
Notably, Blinkit has emphasized that profit is not the driving factor for this initiative. The service will be offered at an affordable cost to customers, with a long-term focus on solving critical healthcare challenges.
The company is taking a measured approach to scaling this service, recognizing its importance and the operational complexities involved. Blinkit plans to expand the 10-minute ambulance service to major cities across India within the next two years, aiming to revolutionize emergency medical response in the country.
