Callebaut, known for its production of the finest Belgian chocolate, hosted its highly anticipated flagship event, the Callebaut Pâtissier of the Year 2024’s North qualifying round, at the Academy of Pastry Arts in Gurgaon on February 16th. Emerging victorious from this competition were Chef Millan Shoran, Chef De Partie at JW Marriott Aerocity, and Chef Anshul Grover, Pastry Chef, India Habitat Centre. These accomplished chefs secured their positions to advance to the finale event scheduled to take place in Mumbai in May 2024.
Marking a century of excellence in crafting The Finest Belgian Chocolate, Callebaut recognizes the paramount importance of originality. In the world of chocolate and pastry, the essence of individuality reigns supreme. Accordingly, this year’s theme, ‘Craft Your Signature’, underscores the intrinsic uniqueness of each chef’s culinary expression.
Talking about the competition, Chef Pratik Deshmukh, Head, Chocolate Academy Mumbai, said, “The Callebaut Pâtissier of the Year event is a highly esteemed platform for chefs and chocolatiers to showcase their chocolate skills and artistry on a national level. This year’s theme has been chosen to inspire participants to demonstrate their unique creativity and originality. The participants’ creations in the Delhi qualifier round were awe-inspiring, exhibiting fresh techniques and distinctive designs using Callebaut’s Finest Belgian Chocolates. We have completed two successful rounds in Mumbai & Delhi; I am now looking forward to the last round of Bangalore.”
The qualifying rounds will conclude on 23rd Feb in Bangalore. The qualifier winners of Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore will compete in the finale, which will be held in Mumbai towards the end of May 2024, where the final three winners will be selected.
