CHUK, the flagship brand of Pakka, hosted ‘Tales on Plates,’ a unique Children’s Day celebration combining creative activities with environmental education for the children of Niveda Foundation in Noida. The initiative showcased how compostability can be fun and educational for young minds.

The interactive program featured various engaging activities designed to spark creativity while instilling environmental consciousness. Children participated in an artistic plate-painting competition and enjoyed storytelling sessions that encouraged imagination and self-expression. What set this celebration apart was the fun and candid conversations while teaching compostability. The refreshments were served in CHUK compostable containers, which the children later used in a hands-on composting activity.

Sarita Upadhyay, spokesperson at Pakka Foundation said, “We sought to create a warm and engaging experience for the children at the Niveda Foundation by introducing them to the concept of compostability. Our initiative, titled “Tales on Plates,” was developed in collaboration with CHUK and the Pakka Foundation to nurture their creativity and curiosity. Watching the children as they joyfully painted, imagined, and embraced new ideas was truly heartwarming. By integrating our compostable containers into their activities, we hope to inspire a deep and lasting sense of environmental stewardship within them. This initiative embodies our heartfelt commitment to building a sustainable future while supporting the communities we serve.”

The event concluded with the distribution of special student kits which included planters, pens and pencils and a variety of seeds that can be planted to all participants, ensuring that learning continued beyond the day’s activities.

The Niveda Foundation, an independent organization committed to societal upliftment—from women’s empowerment in India to children’s welfare—recently partnered with CHUK to educate children on compostability through engaging activities using CHUK products.

Ravi Subramanian, Trustee at Niveda Foundation said, “Our collaboration with Chuk and Pakka Foundation has allowed us to not only advance sustainable practices but also touch lives and uplift communities in ways that matter. This initiative is  proof that true change happens when we come together for a common purpose”
