Dabur Establishes All-Women Production Line in Indore, Madhya Pradesh

In a move to promote gender parity within workplaces, Dabur India Limited has established an all-women production line with 100% female employees at its plant near Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

A team of 20 women is engaged in the production of Dabur’s range of Vatika Hair Oils, emphasizing products “Made by Women, for Women.” To commemorate International Women’s Day, a special video honoring these ‘Vatika Women of Substance’ was launched.

This initiative reflects Dabur’s commitment to fostering a more diverse workforce and advancing women’s empowerment in the manufacturing industry. The company plans to expand this initiative by incorporating an additional 30 women into its factory workforce in the future.

Commenting on the women-led initiative, Biplab Baksi, Executive Director-HR, Dabur India Limited, said, Dabur has always been committed to the principle of equal opportunity in employment. We continue to make progress on our commitments as we enhance representation and inclusion across our organization. Setting up an all-women production line is one step forward in this direction and seeks to not only transform a traditionally male-dominated manufacturing sector but enhance the lives of local women and the community in the process.”

This all-women production line is situated at Dabur’s Rs 550-crore greenfield manufacturing unit near Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It has been established to meet the increasing demand for personal care products, particularly hair oils. With a capacity to produce over 2.5 million packs per annum, the manufacturing unit operates in three shifts.

This unit exclusively produces a range of hair care products designed by women, produced by women, for women. This approach ensures that the products cater to the diverse needs and preferences of the female consumer base, fostering a strong sense of connection between the brand and its consumers. And in the process, this unit is also significantly contributing to economic independence,” said Rahul Awasthi, Global Head of Operations, Dabur India Limited
