Kabeer Biswas, co-founder of Dunzo, has been appointed Head of Operations at Flipkart Minutes, the quick commerce arm of Walmart-owned Flipkart.
Biswas’ move marks his return to the rapid delivery space after nearly a decade of building Dunzo, which has faced challenges including cash burn and stiff competition from Swiggy Instamart, Blinkit, and Tata BigBasket. Despite raising over $400 million from big investors, Dunzo has struggled to maintain its market position.
At Flipkart Minutes, launched in August 2024, Biswas will bring his expertise to help the platform compete in the growing quick commerce sector. He will collaborate with Hemant Badri, Flipkart’s Senior Vice President, to strengthen the division’s operations.
This appointment aligns with Flipkart’s strategic push in the segment, bolstered by Google’s recent $350 million investment in the company, which values it at $36 billion.
