Krones is constructing a state-of-the-art facility in Vemgal, India, to enhance its localized solutions and customer services amid rising demand for domestically sourced F&B products. The plant, set for completion in 2026, will focus on processing, filling, and packaging.
Peter Moertl from Krones’ press relations highlights India’s strong economic growth, projected at 7% annually by the World Bank, along with its skilled labor and expanding urban population as key factors in choosing the location.
Spanning 110,000 square meters, the facility will be developed in three phases, with 70,000 square meters dedicated to production and 40,000 for green spaces. It will complement Krones’ existing operations in India, including Krones India, Krones Processing India, Krones Digital Solutions India, and System Logistics.
With 37% of Indian consumers prioritizing locally sourced products, the new site aligns with market trends. Krones, active in India since the 1990s, aims to build a skilled workforce and strengthen its regional presence. The groundbreaking ceremony saw attendance from Krones executives and Karnataka government officials, reinforcing the company’s commitment to expansion in India.
