Reliance Retail’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) division has crossed a significant milestone, with revenue hitting Rs. 11,500 crore in FY25, making it the company’s fastest-growing business segment in India.
Since entering the FMCG space in 2022 with brands like Independence and Campa, Reliance has rapidly scaled its presence nationwide. “Our key brands, Campa and Independence, are growing very rapidly and are now widely distributed,” said Dinesh Taluja, Chief Financial Officer, Reliance Retail, during the company’s earnings call.
The company’s soft drink brand, Campa, has already secured a double-digit market share in key markets. Taluja noted that Reliance continues to strengthen its portfolio by both launching new products and acquiring established brands.
During FY25, Reliance’s consumer business recorded a 3.5X year-on-year sales growth, primarily driven by expansion through general trade channels. In a move to bolster its personal care segment, Reliance also acquired the brand Velvette during the quarter.
Reliance is further diversifying its beverage offerings, having introduced Campa Energy and a new sports drink, Spinner, in collaboration with Sri Lankan cricket legend Muttiah Muralidharan.
The company’s FMCG distribution network has expanded significantly, now covering over 1 million retail outlets with the support of more than 3,200 distributors.
Additionally, Reliance is looking to international markets for growth. “We plan to set up distribution networks in select overseas markets where our products have strong consumer appeal,” Taluja said.
Today, Reliance’s FMCG portfolio spans a wide range of categories including beverages, staples, personal care, and home care products such as dishwashing liquids, soaps, detergents, and floor cleaners.
