Must Read

Walmart has recently announced the launch of a dedicated page for Indian sellers to register and sell on the company’s marketplace site, Walmart.com.  This announcement was made during the Global Seller Meet held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event facilitated assistance for on-boarding and setting up catalogs for sellers.

Opened to Indian sellers in 2021, Walmart Marketplace now hosts tens of thousands of SKUs featuring products made, grown, or assembled in India. It stands out as one of the fastest-growing e-commerce platforms globally, with its revenue surging by 45 percent last fiscal year, alongside a 20 percent increase in the number of Walmart sellers.

Walmart Marketplace distinguishes itself by not imposing any monthly fees or setup costs for new sellers. Earlier this year, the company introduced the New Seller Savings program, offering participants up to 50 percent off referral and Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) fees for their initial 90 days on Walmart.com.

Michelle Mi, Vice President- Emerging Markets and Business Development, Walmart said, “India is a priority market for Walmart, and the dedicated landing page builds upon our longstanding commitment to Indian sellers. Walmart Marketplace strives to unlock the potential of Indian businesses by giving sellers access to customers around the world. Through dedicated onboarding support and expertise in navigating global supply chains, we’re empowering sellers with the tools they need to thrive in the U.S. marketplace and beyond.”

The company is actively seeking to onboard Indian manufacturers and brand owners across diverse categories onto its marketplace, thereby delivering value to millions of customers.
