Zomato introduces 15-minute food delivery service in select cities

Must Read

Zomato has quietly launched a 15-minute food delivery service, intensifying competition in the fast-growing quick food delivery segment. While the service has not been officially announced, it is already operational in select locations across major cities, including Mumbai and Bangalore.

A dedicated “15-minute delivery” tab has appeared in the app’s explore section, featuring a curated menu of quick-to-prepare and ready-to-eat dishes from participating restaurants. To ensure timely delivery, Zomato limits orders to restaurants within a 1.5 to 2-kilometre radius of the delivery location.

Currently, the 15-minute delivery option is not universally available and applies only to select restaurants. The nationwide rollout status remains unclear.

This move comes shortly after Zomato’s grocery arm, Blinkit, introduced its food delivery app, Bistro, in December. Bistro focuses on delivering snacks, meals, and beverages within 10 minutes through a cloud kitchen model, competing directly with Zepto Café, which combines quick delivery with physical restaurant setups.

Zomato’s new service aligns with industry trends, where speed and convenience are driving innovation in the food delivery space.
