Food and delivery giant Zomato announced on February 6, 2025, that it will rename itself “Eternal Ltd.”, unveiling a new logo in the process. The rebranding comes over two years after the company began using the name internally.
In a letter to shareholders, founder Deepinder Goyal explained the rationale behind the move. “When we acquired Blinkit, we started using ‘Eternal’ internally to distinguish between the company and the brand/app. We also thought we would publicly rename the company once something beyond Zomato became a significant driver of our future,” he wrote.
With Blinkit’s rapid growth, Goyal believes the company has reached that point. “Today, with Blinkit, I feel we are there. We would like to rename Zomato Ltd. (the company, not the brand/app) to Eternal Ltd.,” he added.
Under the new corporate identity, Eternal Ltd. will oversee four major business verticals: Zomato (food delivery), Blinkit (quick commerce), District (live events), Hyperpure (kitchen supplies). The company’s board has already approved the name change, marking a strategic shift from early skepticism around Zomato’s 2022 Blinkit acquisition to growing investor interest in its quick commerce-led expansion.
